Connect bike lanes that are already here
From "Bikeways and Trail Plan"
Go to the project
Instead of only starting new bike lanes I strongly believe we need to connect the ones that already exist. For example, in my neighborhood we have a protected lane for about half a mile. I’m not sure what that is supposed to do?
if we connect bike lanes that are already there each one will be used a lot more!

Yes. The bike lanes often end abruptly. Connecting the routes would make it much safer.

I fully agree with this. We need a cohesive network that is built more on reducing the conflict between modes and allowing most of the origin to destination of bike trips in the urban core to be un-interrupted. New york has had great success actually increasing mode shift to bikes with more protected lanes that are connected. This requires trade-offs though, and being comfortable with reducing Vehicle/parking capacity on through streets.
