None of the proposed options make any sense. An option 6 should have been proposed which is to repair the road to the same width and route that it was prior to 2015. This is not a new road. So, there is no reason to add bike lanes and sidewalks that didn't exist before. It doesn't make sense to add them unless it can be done for the full length of the road.
There is no reason to convert what used to be a beautiful drive into a bike path. There are already multiple bike paths in the area. We need this beautiful historic drive through Blue River Parkway restored!

Blue River Road is one of the legacy road from Harry Truman's Jackson County roads. This is the shortest way to Swope Park and the Zoo. It carries a lot of traffic and is a good diagonal road.
Either fix the existing road or rebuild and widen it a bit. I'm in favor of bike lanes since bikers don't know the rules of the road. We don't need to waste any more money other than to return it to use.
Thank you very much for repaving it from Red Bridge to Blue Ridge.

Just the blue river paved trail system has 12 miles of paved trails that go out to minor park and connect at the north end to the trolley trail that takes you all the way to the Plaza and brush creek. You can go West into Kansas. If they pave the shoulders wider they can incorporate bike lanes and keep a road. We enjoyed biking the road in the 80's,90's and lived. It is a great driving road. What is the actual demand for bike commuters coming from Red Bridge that want to end up at 85th and Prospect or 87th Street? The park was designed for vehicular access. 99% of that is motor vehicle and should not be overlooked.

How much do you think bike paths cost? Is the argument that rebuilding the road will be significantly more cost effective if we remove 3 feet and an additional strip of paint? That’s silly.

That has always been such a beautiful drive. It has been sad that the City chose not to shore up the road and the river bank to keep the road open. There are miles of paved walking/ bike paths along the park and 3x as many off road hiking/biking/equestrian trails already there as well. You've made enough unused bike lanes in town already.
