Why can we not repair the existing road, add some lights and cams, and reopen the road?

Reopening the road is all the community has asked for but note the City hasn't even made that an option, thus shirking its responsibilities. If you have read the report, you see the road was not maintained, resulting in what we have now. It is the City's responsible to repair the road and then maintain it just as with any other road in this town.

Because the ground is not stable and it will wash away quickly.
It’s just not a practical place to build a road.

@Craig Morea thanks for input Craig. I’ll trust the engineers though. Also the large sections of closed road are falling apart might indicate the current ground is in fact not stable.
Idk what happened in 2010 that you think stabilized it.
I’m just thinking practically that 60million could be used to maintain other roads that are more practical.

@Robert Hilvert I took lots of photos and videos of the road in September of 2010 and compared it to photos I took in September of 2024. I can see no further subsidence. As I wrote in my comment here on July 26th, the $60,000,000 figure is based on plans for a mega-project that no one asked for. We just want the road repaired in the same way any other road would have been repaired, and as Blue River Road was actually repaired from 1931 to 1994.

@Robert Hilvert What you are describing is called "maintenance". Over time, I see Blue River Road needing about the same amount of maintenance as the average road. What has changed since the turn of the century are the City's priorities and their willingness to disinform us in order to implement those priorities.
