Let's Shape Animal Services in Kansas City!

As Kansas City prepares to take on in-sourcing animal services, we want to hear directly from you!

The Neighborhood Services Department will host three public feedback meetings from mid-May through early June to learn what residents across Kansas City need and expect from Animal Services.

Whether dealing with dangerous dogs, stray animals, pet licensing, animal neglect or abuse, spay/neuter access, or even keeping backyard chickens, we want your ideas, questions, and concerns to help shape how the City moves forward.

The Neighborhood Services Department is committed to strengthening animal welfare, improving public safety, and supporting responsible pet ownership in every neighborhood. This quick survey is your chance to share what’s working or what you would like to see when it comes to animal services in Kansas City. Your feedback will help the City better understand the challenges and priorities that matter most—and may even shape future updates to our local animal ordinance.
