MCI Master Plan

The Kansas City International Airport (MCI) Master Plan is a comprehensive study outlining the short-, medium-, and long-term plans for airport development through 2045. Following a process prescribed by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), this study aims to support the modernization of airport facilities and serves as the City’s strategy for future improvements at MCI.

The planning process focuses on evaluating when facility improvements are needed to accommodate projected demand safely, efficiently, and cost effectively while maintaining and enhancing customer service.

The plan is scheduled to be completed in approximately 18 months. Public involvement is a crucial part of this project. There will be three Open Houses where the public can hear presentations about the project’s status, provide comments, and ask questions from technical experts.
